The Inspiration

“Paolina” is a fragrance dedicated to Paolina Bonaparte, Napoleon’s sister, who travelled to visit him on Elba several times. Paolina was a woman of great charm and beauty, who had a fiery character. He often talked about her love of life, and her being very unconventional for her time, such as her posing nude for the statue of “Venus Victrix” by the artist Antonio Canova.

It is just this aspect of her character that represents her best, and makes her such a special woman of her time. Paolina embodied liberty, carefreeness and a joy for life; qualities that are found in the aroma of this perfume, with its fresh Marine note, of White Flowers, and a heart of Violets and Geranium, with a background of Sweet Vanilla.

“Josephine” is a fragrance inspired by the figure of Marie-Josèphe-Rose De La Pagerie, better known as Josephine Bonaparte. It was Napoleon who, in their love letters, first called her Josephine.

Hints of Orange and red fruits over a heart of magnolia and Rose, that more than all other fragrances, represents the figure of Josephine.
