Chocolate bar with essential oil of medicinal plants

From a love for natural ingredients, a taste for wellbeing, and excellent quality raw materials, comes a line of chocolate that is ultimately genuine. Cocoa, finely selected from the rich plantations of Central Africa, and organically grown medicinal plants, typical of Chianti, are crafted together in a small chocolate atelier in the heart of Tuscany.

The product obtained, is the perfect combination of taste and wellness, where the beneficial effects of chocolate, are enhanced by those of essential oils.

Dark Chocolate with Fennel

Ingredients:
Cocoa solids, sugar, cocoa butter, Fennel organic essential oil 0.07%, emulsifier: soya lecithin, natural vanilla aroma.
Fennel:
it born spontaneously in maritime areas and low Hill, especially where there is a good exposure to the Sun; It can grow up to 2 meters high, grassy branch has very dense umbrella-shaped whose peaks bloom in summer and develop of berries defined improperly seeds.
Properties of Fennel:
fennel is used in herbal medicine for internal use for its stimulant properties, antispasmodic, antiseptic, aromatic, carminative, digestive, diuretic and galattagoghe. Fennel is then use for internal use in the treatment of dyspepsia, flatulence, gastrointestinal spasms, constipation and slow digestions.

Dark Chocolate with Helichrysum

Ingredients:
Cocoa solids, sugar, cocoa butter, Helichrysum organic essential oil 0.07%, emulsifier: soya lecithin, natural vanilla aroma.
Helichrysum:
An herbaceous perennial, of 30-40 cm in height, with grey/ashy leaves and yellow flowers. A characteristic plant of Mediterranean scrublands; widespread in uncultivated places and stony, arid and sunny areas.
Properties of Helichrysum:
According to folk medicine, Helichrysum essential oil, , has anti-allergic and Anti-inflammatory properties, especially in regards to the respiratory system. It has been found that Helichrysum extract has antibacterial anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It also has anti-Erythematous and protective photo properties, thanks to the flavonoids it contains.

A native to the Western Mediterranean, is a spontaneous shrub with small, longish leaves, gray-green colour, and covered by a thick down.
Properties of Thyme:
Thyme essential oil acts directly, naturally, on the mucous membranes of the respiratory system. Thyme has pain-relieving properties, and thanks its intrinsic, antiseptic properties it is used in the formulation of ointments for treating wounds and bruises. Thyme is a veritable natural antibiotic; clinical studies have shown that several forms of pathogens are sensitive to this plant.

Juniper is an Evergreen shrub, between 1 and 10 metres in height, with needle-like leaves and bluely-purple berries (or coccole), covered with an opaque film called ‘bloom’. It is very widespread in the Alps and the Apennines, of Italy
Properties of Juniper:
Thanks to the carminative and stomachic properties of the essential oil, Juniper is approved for the treatment of dyspeptic disorders. Juniper essential oil has proven to possess diuretic and anti-inflammatory activity. It has also been shown to have antiseptic, antiviral, hypotensive, and hypoglycemic properties.

Dark Chocolate with Sage

Ingredients:

Sage:
Small Evergreen shrub, with squared-section branches. The leaves grow opposite one another, oval-lanceolate, finely-toothed, thick and wrinkled, and covered in hair.
Properties of Sage:
Sage has several therapeutic properties, such as being antibacterial, antifungal, virustatic, astringent and antiperspirant. In addition, some studies showed that Sage is able to exert a choleretic affect. This makes it a plant that aids many dyspeptic symptoms. Thanks to the Rosmarinic acid it contains, Sage has been shown to have potential anti-inflammatory properties.

According to folk medicine, Mint essential oil, has many gastrointestinal and respiratory tract-level properties ascribed to it. Importantly, it has an antispasmodic affect on the smooth muscle cells of the digestive and respiratory systems; also having decongestants and balsamic affects, i.e. dissolving respiratory secretions.

Lavender:
A perennial, Evergreen shrub of small dimension (60-100 cm.). The characteristic part of the plant is the fragrant blue violet flowers. Native to the Mediterranean, Lavender is a herb that thrives well both at torrid temperatures and harsh Winters.
Properties of Lavender:
Lavender essential oil, according to folk medicine, is an excellent sedative, acting on the Stomach and Intestines. It stimulates the activity of Liver and Bile Gland; soothes aches and abdominal cramps, and more generally, muscle pain. It has a diuretic action and is an excellent antiseptic.

Ingredients:
Cocoa solids, sugar, cocoa butter, Rosemary organic essential oil 0.07%, emulsifier: soya lecithin, natural vanilla aroma.
Rosemary:
An aromatic perennial, which spreads spontaneous in the Mediterranean coastal areas, Garighe, and Mediterranean vegetation; rocky crags and sunny inland, as much at sea level, as hilly areas.
Properties of Rosemary:
Rosemary essential oil exerts both a digestive and antispasmodic affect on the digestive system, and a choleretic affect on the Bile Gland; Rosemary essential oil has also been shown to have antioxidant, antibacterial, antiviral as properties, and as well as being anti-parasitic, astringent, deodorant, also has skin-purifying and toning properties.

Dark Chocolate with Saffron

Ingredients:
Cocoa solids, sugar, cocoa butter, Saffron organic essential oil 0.07%, emulsifier: soya lecithin, natural vanilla aroma.
Saffron:
This spice is derived from the stigmas of the Crocus Sativus flower; A perennial herbaceous plant, which can grow up to 30cm in height.
Properties of Saffron:
Among the many recognized properties, it plays a leading role in controlling Blood Pressure. It contains reconstituted Mineral Salts, is rich in vitamins, especially Riboflavin, Vitamins E, Carotene (1000 times more than the carrot) and lycopene, a powerful antioxidant. It also has a good proportion of Flavonoids and Anthocyanins, which are essential allies in fighting the formation of Free Radicals and Cancer. It calms insomnia and pain, and regulates the Menstrual Cycle.

Dark Chocolate with Red Wine

Ingredients:
Cocoa solids, sugar, cocoa butter, Fennel organic essential oil 0.07%, emulsifier: soya lecithin, natural vanilla aroma.

The choice to combine two ingredients such as red wine and chocolate, was derived from a study carried out by the collaboration of a chocolate manufacturer and the Universities of Colle Val d’Elsa and Siena. Chocolate and grapes both are high antioxidant, and defend the body against free radicals, inhibiting platelet build-up, and thus preventing cardiovascular diseases. It is also a combination that is typical of the region, from which it is born.
